It is the twentieth to analyse water quality in the Miño-Sil Hydrographic Confederation
The Miño-Sil Hydrographic Confederation (CHMS) has installed a new Automatic Water Quality Information System (SAICA) station on the River Sil as it passes through the municipality of O Barco de Valdeorras in Ourense. With this addition, the district now has 20 stations with specific technology to provide water quality data.
The project involved the installation of a multi-parameter probe that will provide real-time values for turbidity, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, ammonium concentration, pH and temperature. The data is sent by satellite to the CHMS basin control centre (CECU) in Ourense, with a record every fifteen minutes and publication on the organisation’s website. The total investment was €55,526.45.
