Horizontal Principles
The RISC_PLUS project, from its design phase to the current implementation, ensures that the project’s actions guarantee at all times compliance with the horizontal principles and Community policies on equal opportunities and non-discrimination, equality between women and men and sustainable development, as set out in Regulation (EU) No. 1303/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013; In particular, Article 7 states that “Member States and the Commission shall take appropriate measures to avoid any discrimination based on sex, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation in the preparation and implementation of programmes”.
Sustainable development
As provided for in the different EU strategies and policies, the RISC_PLUS project will contribute to preserving the natural heritage through the design of a set of measures aimed at obtaining greater knowledge of the water and cartographic environment and the establishment of mechanisms for action and prevention with respect to extreme phenomena – droughts, fires and floods – with the aim of mitigating their effects on the environment.
Equality between men and women
Although due to the very subject matter of the project there are no specific actions to promote equality between men and women, it is worth mentioning that the project will ensure equal opportunities and, therefore, non-discrimination on the grounds of disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc., in the recruitment processes carried out throughout the implementation period. This principle will prevail, both with regard to the recruitment of personnel within each of the partner entities, as well as in the specifications for the contracting of services or external experts.
Equal opportunities and non-discrimination
As in the context of equal opportunities, the project will also guarantee equality between men and women and therefore non-discrimination on grounds of sex. Therefore, as specified in the previous section, the recruitment procedures that may be carried out by the project partners, as well as those of external services and experts, will at all times respect equality between men and women and guarantee total impartiality in the matter.
