The Hydrographic Confederation of the Miño-Sil wide the Network SAIH with a new station in the municipality lucense of Friol

  • The SAIH stations provide data every 5 minutes to the River Basin Control Center (CECU), facilitating decision-making in risk situations.

In its effort to improve the management and control of water resources, the Miño-Sil Hydrographic Confederation (CHMS), an autonomous body under the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), takes a further step with the construction of a new station for the Automatic Hydrological Information System (SAIH) on the Narla River, as it passes through the municipality of Friol in the Lugo province.

With an investment of over 54,000 euros, the construction of this new station will allow the real-time registration and transmission of essential hydrometeorological data for its operation and analysis at the River Basin Control Center (CECU).

These actions aim not only to improve the response capacity to emergencies but also to optimize the sustainable use of water to minimize the impact of climate change and prevent extreme weather events.
