GaliciaPress | Installation of a new control point on the Támoga river in Cospeito completed

The Miño-Sil Hydrographic Confederation (CHMS) has completed the installation of a new Automatic Hydrological Information System (SAIH) station on the Támoga river, as it passes through Toiral, in the municipality of Cospeito (Lugo).

The project is framed within the European project POCTEP RISC_PLUS, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg VI A Spain-Portugal 2021-2027 program.

This new hydrological control point incorporates specific civil works, a radar sensor for continuous monitoring of water level in the channel, as well as equipment to record rainfall and ambient temperature.

The station also includes a data acquisition and processing system that sends recorded information every five minutes to the Basin Control Center (CECU), located in Ourense.

With an approximate investment of 47,000 euros, this project strengthens real-time observation capacity in the Miño-Sil hydrographic basin, which improves the response to extreme phenomena such as floods or droughts.
